EXCITING NEWS FOR THE LAREDO TRADE COMMUNITY:

Today the US Surface Transportation Board's (STB) Office of Environmental Analysis issued a Final Environmental Assessment for the Laredo Gateway International Railway, which is planned for construction within the Gateway International Rail Park in Laredo, TX. The next step before construction can begin is for the STB Board to review and approve the final application. This will be a game changer for the Laredo trade corridor by creating a modern rail-served industrial park connected to the Union Pacific where northbound and southbound shipments can be transloaded efficiently between most types of OTR trailers and rail cars. This is not 1:1 intermodal. It is 5:1 large-scale efficiency for the first time at the nation's #1 land port of Laredo, TX. More to come...
